Frances Pinheiro

Portsmouth, RI - Frances V. (DeMello) Pinheiro, 99, formerly of 80 Eustis Avenue, Newport, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at St. Clare Home, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late George P. Pinheiro. Born in on the family farm at Sachuest Point in Middletown, RI on December 23, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Vieira and Maria (Bernardo) DeMello.Mrs. Pinheiro worked as a nurse's aide for the Newport Hospital for 18 years, retiring in 1983. She was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church. Frances was an avid walker. She is survived by her sister Rose Gomes of Newport, RI, Francelina Veader of Rehoboth, MA and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was the sister of the late Jesse Vieira DeMello, Filomena "Fanny" Escobar, Anna DeSilvia, Jospeh Vieira DeMello, and Mary V. Lima. Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012, from 10-11AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM, in Jesus Savior Church, 1 Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.
