Francis Anthony Paiva

Newport, - Francis Anthony Paiva, 90, of 8 E Bayside Village Newport, formerly of Yonkers, New York, died Thursday, February 6, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.He was the husband of Aldina Mello Paiva. Born in Rehoboth, MA on February 12, 1912, he was the son of the late Joseph B. and Isabelle Vieira Paiva.Mr. Paiva was a World War II Army Veteran serving in the South Pacific. Mr. Paiva worked as a maintainence manager at Lawrence Mangement in Bronxsville, NY for twenty years he also worked at the LaForge Restaurant in Newport as a maintenance worker. He was a member of Jesus Saviour Church. Besides his wife he is survived by four sons Francis Anthony Paiva Jr. of Middletown, RI, Robert James Paiva of Woodstock, MD, Thomas Joseph Paiva of Newport, RI, and James Joseph Paiva of West Warwick, RI, two brothers Arthur J. Paiva of Middletown, RI, and George Paiva of Yonkers, NY, fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.He was the brother of the late Manuel Paiva, Joseph Paiva, Anthony Paiva, Mary Keavy, and Mary Rodrigues. His funeral will be held on Monday, February 10, 2003, at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
