Francis J. Jordan Sr

Middletown, RI - Francis J. Jordan, Sr., 67, of Middletown, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 after a brave battle with cancer, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. He was the husband of Kathleen M. (Whalen) Jordan. Born in Newport, RI on March 13, 1947, he was the son of the late Francis M. and Mae A. (Green) Jordan. Frank grew up in Middletown and graduated from Middletown High School. After his graduation he joined the US Army and served three years including overseas duty during the Vietnam Era. He was self-employed as a Mason in Newport before having a 25 year career in the Public Works Department on the Newport Naval Base. Mr. Jordan was a member of the DAV in Middletown, and loved being with his family and sitting in the garage watching the traffic go by. Besides his wife of 44 years, Kathleen M. (Whalen) Jordan, he is also survived by his children, Francis J. "Frank" Jordan Jr. of Middletown, Raymond B. Jordan of Warwick, Kim Jordan, Elizabeth Jordan and Melinda Jordan all of Middletown, his sisters Marion LaBonte of Middletown, RI, Kathy Palmer and Debra Jordan of Ocala, FL and four grandchildren, Francis C. Jordan, Adam Hamel, Kayliah Medeiros, and Kaiden Medeiros. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014, from 9:00-11:00am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
