Francis J. Pine

Francis J. Pine, 73, of Stage Coach Road, Portsmouth, RI, died on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at home.He was the loving husband of Barbara A. Silvia Pine.Born in Newport, RI on September 27, 1937, he was the son of Frank Pine of Newport, RI and the late Angelina Correia Pine.After graduating from Rogers High School in Newport, Frank served in the US Navy for 4 years. He went to work as a mechanic at Viti Bros. Dealership in Tiverton, retiring 40 years later from Viti Mercedes in Tiverton.Frank and Barbara celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. Frank enjoyed golfing and had been a member of Green Valley Country Club for many years. He loved spending time with family and friends.In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his son, Wayne Pine and Gwen McKone of Portsmouth, RI; his daughter, Kim Levesque and her husband, Jim, of Cranston, RI; two grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Patrick Carroll, both of Cranston, RI; his sisters, Veronica Perry and her husband, Art, of Newport, RI, Patricia Dennett and her husband, Bill of Middletown, RI, Gertrude Granger and her husband, Harold, of Kentucky, Catherine Batson of Wilmington, NC; his brothers, Robert Pine and his wife, Bernice, of Newport, RI, Michael Pine and his wife, Leslie, of Providence, RI and Thomas Pine of California.His funeral service will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 11 am in St. Marys Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 4-7 pm in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
