Middletown, RI - Francis Medeiros Jordan, 82, of 813 Forest Park Middletown, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at home.He was the husband of Mae A. Green Jordan. Born in Portsmouth, RI on June 23, 1921, he was the son of the late Antone and Julia Almeida Jordan. Mr. Jordan was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army. After World War II he worked for Newport Roofing and then went into business for himself as a mason for over 52 years. He was a member of St. Lucys Church, the Middletown Knights of Columbas Lodge #256, the Middletown VFW Post #4487, and Kiwanis Club of Middletown. Besides his wife of 57years he is survived by his son Francis Joseph Jordan of Middletown, RI, three daughters Marion LaBonte of Middletown, RI, Kathleen Palmer of Oviedo, FL, and Debra Jordan of Deland, FL, two brothers Joseph Medeiros Jordan of Middletown, RI, and John Medeiros Jordan of Mt. Clements, MI, his sisters Mary Teves of Middletown, RI, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.He was the brother of the late Manuel Jordan, Anthony Jordan, Alfred Jordan, Evelyn Mendonca and Ida Jordan. His funeral will be held on Friday, March 26, 2004, at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Brown?s Lane, Middletown.In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Middletown Rescue Wagon Fund, 239 Wyatt Road, Middletown, RI 02842 or to the Visiting Nurse Services of Newport Bristol Counties?, Hospice Care, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
