Francis P. Demenezes

Born in Newport, RI on June 5, 1944 and deceased on March 5, 2009.He was the son of the late Manuel and Mary DeMenezes of Newport, RI; and was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Elaine Vandal DeMenezes.Francis Frank is survived by his children, Cheryl DeMenezes of Newport, RI; Brian DeMenezes, and his wife Jennifer and their son Brett of Belle Air Bluffs, Florida, and David DeMenezes and his significant other Julie of Virginia Beach , VA.He is also survived by his brother Manuel P. DeMenezes Jr. and his wife Margaret of Portsmouth, RI; and three sisters Beverly Craft and her husband Thomas of Middletown, RI; Deborah Circosta Newport, RI; and sister Pamela Noury and her husband Robert of Pawtucket, RI.Francis graduated Rogers High School in 1962, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 18 and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was an accomplished automobile mechanic and an avid fisherman.His funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at the funeral home from 4-7pm.In lieu of flowers, donations can me made in his memory to the Newport Hospital, 19 Friendship Street, Newport, RI 02840
