Portsmouth, - Francis V. Lauder, II, of Black Point Lane Portsmouth, died Friday, September 5, 2003 at home.He was the husband of Catherine Escubar Lauder of Portsmouth. Born in East Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Alexander William and Loie Zimmerman Lauder. Mr. Lauder served as a Senior Chief in the United States Navy for 21 years, retiring in 1967. While in the Navy one of his assignments was being stationed at the Naval War College. He worked as an electronics technician at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center for 30 years retiring in 1995. Mr. Lauder was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church.Besides his wife of 41 years he is survived by three sons son Francis Veere Lauder III of Boston, MA, Michael Francis Lauder and William Henry Francis Lauder both of Portsmouth, RI. His funeral will be held on Monday, September 8, 2003, at 9:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Barnabas Church Building Fund, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
