Francisco Tereyle Abong

Newport, - Francisco T. Abong, 80, of 254 Maple Ave Newport, died Saturday, January 11, 2003 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI.He was born in the Philippines on July 29, 1922 the son of the late Sotero and Maria Terruelo Abong.Mr. Abong, known as Frank, was in the United States Navy, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a well-liked man in Newport. He is survived by three sons John Abong of Newport, RI, Frank Abong of Galloway, NJ, and Fred Abong of Newport, RI, two daughters Elizabeth McGinty of Fairfield, CT, and Ali Abong of Boise, Idaho and seven grandchildren.His funeral will be pivate.Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.Donations may be made in his memory to the American Lung Association 1740 Broadway New York, NY 10014.
