Francoise (Devinck) Helme, 82, of Newport, RI, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Grand Islander Health Care Center in Middletown.She was the wife of the late Ernest C. Helme, Jr.Born on May 11, 1933 in Paris, France, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Aimee A. Devinck and came to the United States in 1959.Mrs. Helme worked in management and sales for a variety of retailers prior to retiring.She is survived by her son, Ernest C. "E.C." Helme III, his wife, Hope, and granddaughter Hanna of Newport, RI.Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Potter League of Middletown, the Redwood Library of Newport or the Preservation Society of Newport.
