Frank Anthony Soares

Middletown, - Frank A. Soares, 88, of Village House Nursing Home, Newport formerly of Forest Farm Nursing Home, Middletown and Sunny Acres, Portsmouth, RI, died Saturday, January 4, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI, Born in Portsmouth, RI on Dec. 11, 1914, he was the son of the late Antone Soares and Rita Garcia Soares. Mr. Soares had been employed by the former Sheraton-Islander and Treadway Inn in Newport as a maintainence worker retiring in1979. He had been a farmer on the Cornell Farm in Portsmouth from 1941-1957. He is survived by two daughters Diane R. Harris of Tiverton, RI, Irene Lapointe of Tiverton, RI, three sons Antone J. Soares of Tiverton, RI, Frank A. Soares Jr. Tiverton, R.I., Charles A. Soares Tiverton, RI, two sisters Louise Moriarty of Newport, R.I., Julia Soares of Middletown, R.I., 13 grandchildren and 14 great grand children. Mr. Soares was the father of the late Raymond J. Soares and brother of the late John Soares, Antone Soares, Alphonse Soares, Mary Silveira, Rita Silveira, Anna Murphy, Margaret Correia, Rose Souza. His funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003 from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Route 114, Portsmouth at 9:00 AM to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.
