Tiverton - Frank Bucci peacefully passed away at home on May 1, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born on September 4, 1926 to Alberto J. and Olivia (DeCosta) Bucci. Frank was the 8th of 9 children. All have preceded him in death with one surviving sister in California.Frank married Julia Marie Vieira on April 22, 1950 and shared their life together for 65 years. She preceded him in death in 2014. They have four surviving daughters, Julieann Brocious and her husbandJerry, of Colorado, Marion Fath and her husband, Chris, of Rhode Island, Tina Brady and her husband, Tim, of Rhode Island and Jennifer Saylor of Rhode Island; ten surviving grandchildren, Anthony Vieira, Jr., Francis Anne Keener, Deborah Brocious, Charles Brocious, Jr., Danielle Fath, Matthew Fath, Patrick Meagher, Lori Homan, Frankie Saylor and Sammy Saylor; seven surviving great-grandchildren, Brenna Vieira, Xavier Fath, Anthony Viera, Brady Brocious, Jacog Fath, Viviana Fath and Logan Keener. Both of his sons predeceased him, Anthony Vieira and Frank A. Bucci. Frank was a native of Newport, RI and attended Newport Public Schools where he excelled in in sports, especially baseball. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving in both World War II and the Korean War. Frank retired from the moving business at Bowler Van Storage. He was very active in the Knight of Columbus as a 4th Degree Knight and a member of the V.F.W. Frank loved his best friend and companion, Cocoa, his dog. He enjoyed fishing, family gatherings and had a great sense of humor. Frank/Daddy will be sadly missed and never forgotten. All are welcome to a committal prayer service on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 10 am in the chapel of St. Columba Cemetery, 465 Browns Lane, Middletown, RI.
