MIDDLETOWN, RI - Frank Joseph Potter, 64, of 25 Renfrew Avenue, Middletown, RI, formerly of Newport, RI, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2005, at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Susan Traikos Potter. Born in Newport, RI on April 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Frank Alves and Mary Lopes. Frank served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, in the 32nd tank Division. He worked at Electric Boat in the welding support division for twenty years, retiring in 1995. Frank was a very talented and well liked man. Every Thursday night he played the harmonica at Billy Goodes. As a hobby Frank made automatic custom knives and was well renowned in the knife making community. Besides his wife of 30 years, he is survived by his children Erik Potter, Traci Potter and Michael Potter all of Middletown, RI, and Maia Carlstrom of Pensacola, FL, and his grandchildren Dalton Carlstrom and Taylor Carlstrom both of Pensacola, FL. His funeral will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2005, at 8:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00AM, in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-9pm in the funeral home.In lieu of flowers donations in Franks name may be made to the Frank J.
