PORTSMOUTH, RI - Frank Kazin, 88, of 97 Clearview Avenue, Portsmouth, RI, he died peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, after a long illness at Forest Farm Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. He was the husband of Genevieve Laczka Kazin. Born in Providence, RI on September 11, 1916, he was the son of the late Peter and Blanche Stankiewicz Kazin. Frank graduated from Central High School in Providence, RI. After his graduation he joined the United States Navy, serving during World War II. After the War he began work at NUSC, retiring after 40 years as a configuration manager in 1979. Known for his sense of humor, he also enjoyed the outdoors, loved hiking, camping, biking and traveling. Besides his wife of 58 years he is survived by his children Marjorie E. Kazin-Boyce of Jamestown, RI, Linda J. Roy of Fall River, MA, Judith K. Cooper, Karen F. Kazin and Nancy I. Browne all of Portsmouth, RI, his siblings Peter Kazin of Rendendo Beach, CA, John Kazin of Spring Hill, FL, and Helen Drohan of Herndon, VA, his grandchildren Cynthia Lam of Uniontown, PA, Alison Roy of Fall River, MA, Rachel Cooper, Samuel Browne and Jessica Browne all of Portsmouth, RI, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Friday, July 29, 2005, at 1:00PM, in St. Marys Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Marys Churchyard in Portsmouth.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2005, from 6-8pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
