Frank M. Cambra

Frank M. Cambra, Jr, 74, formerly of Boyds Lane, Portsmouth, RI, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in North Easton, MA.He was the husband of the late Theresa M. Brabant Cambra.Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son the late Frank M. and Rose Cabral Cambra.Mr. Cambra retired in 1985 as Fire Chief from the Newport Naval Base. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Pauls Church in Portsmouth, RI and was a Third Degree Knight, Knights of Columbus. He was a 1952 graduate of BMC Durfee. An avid artist, he enjoyed drawing and painting, loved jazz, classical music and car racing.He is survived by two daughters, Donna M. Tavares and Kathleen Goulin, both of Swansea, MA, three step-daughters, Claudette Jordan of Taunton, MA, Elaine Saulnier of Avon, MA and Renee Myers formerly of Swansea, MA, a brother, Edward F. Cambra of Fall River, MA and twelve grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 1 pm in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 245 Waterman Avenue, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
