Frederick D. ?Freddy? Swarz Portsmouth, RI - Frederick D. ?Freddy? Swarz, 48, of 9 Dyer Street, Portsmouth, RI, died Friday, December 28, 2007 at home. He was the husband of Darlene LaVault Swarz. Born in Newport, RI, on February 16, 1959 he was the son of Fred and Emily Salvador Swarz of Portsmouth, RI.Mr. Swarz had worked as a mechanic for Kents Alignment in Newport for 8 years, and had formerly worked at the former Souzas Garage in Portsmouth. He was an assistant scout master for Portsmouth Troop #1 Boy Scouts of America. He was an assistant coach for the Portsmouth Babe Ruth League and crew chief for Paquin G.P. Motorsports. Mr. Swarz enjoyed hiking, camping, and auto racing. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Ryan A. Swarz of Portsmouth, RI, a step-daughter, Ashley M. Williams of Portsmouth, RI, two brothers, James Swarz of Tiverton, RI and Raymond Swarz of Portsmouth, RI, a sister, Rebecca Marsden of Portsmouth, RI, two nephews, Justin Marsden of Portsmouth, RI and Christopher Beaudreau of Belmont, NH and a niece, Stephanie Marsden of Portsmouth, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be private.Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 4, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.
