Frederick J. Reis, Jr

Frederick J. Reis, Jr.76, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Crestwood Nursing Home in Warren, RI, formerly of 11 Stone Church Road in Little Compton. He was the husband of Judith E. (Sullivan RN) Costa Reis of Tiverton. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Frederick J. and Rosalind (Costa) Reis, Sr.Mr. Reis worked at the Nike Site in Needam, Massachusetts on Ajax and Hercules Missiles, then as an Electronic Specialist on Aircraft Components at Otis Air Force Base. He served in the Massachusetts National Guard for 34 years retiring as a Sergeant First Class. He was a member of the Retired Servicemen's Association and the N.R.A.. Fred was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He was a communicant of St. Catherine of Sienna Parish in Little Compton.Besides his wife he leaves his children, Frederick J. Reis III and his wife Brenda of Jamestown, Donald Reis and his wife Nancy of Acton, MA, and Susan Renyville and her husband Russell of West Granby, CT. Fred also leaves his sister Barbara Reis of Orleans, MA, and four grandchildren of Garrett Reis, Callie Reis, Brooke Reis and Max Marston. He was the stepfather of Christine Costa and Kerry Costa both of TivertonCalling hours will be held Thursday, May 7, from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10:00am in St. Catherine of Sienna Parish, 74 Simmons Road, Little Compton, RI.
