George A. Ney

George A. Ney, 84, of Middletown died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Marie (Emily) Ney for 55 years.Born on February 12, 1931, in Newport he was the son of the late George A. and Violet (Alexander) Ney.George served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a truck driver for over 30 years, working for Nortek of New Bedford. After retiring from Nortek, he went to work for Baynes and Jones. He was a skilled horseman, and was a member of the Newport Polo Club, being its youngest member, in the 50's. He was a lifetime member of the FOPA Lodge 21 in Middletown, the Elks Lodge 104 in Newport, the All Vets Club in Middletown and an honorary member of the Viking Riders motorcycle club.Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Thomas Ney and his wife Robin and Donna Bonnenfant and her husband Leo all of Middletown, his grandchildren; Shannon, Mercedes, Ashley and Nikki Ney, and Erica Bonnenfant, his great grandchildren Jacqueline, Josalynn and Jeffrey Hutchinson and four step grandchildren.He was the father of the late Stephen F.
