George B. Moals, Jr. died on November 29, 2021. George attended Maryland's school system and graduated as Mt. Airy High School's champion wrestler. He was then drafted into the United States Army where he served for six years, including a three-year tour in Vietnam. Eventually, he settled down in Dorchester, MA for some fifty years before relocating to Fall River, MA to take care of his mom. He is best known for his expertise in electrical and plumbing, as well as providing transportation. He loved spending time with his family, playing cards and grilling his famous ribs. But he had a special place in his heart for his first grandson George, aka Bugzy.
George was preceded by his wife Hattie Ledbetter Moals; his siblings: Twin Boys Moals, Nancy Moals, Helen Moals, Marcus Moals, Gordon Moals and Jeffrey Moals; Stepchildren: Monique Countrymon, Denise & Stacy Ledbetter.
George leaves to mourn his precious and only son George Tyrone Countrymon (Rina); His Siblings: Barbara Johnson-Cooper, Deborah Wornum, Lorraine Williams (Willie), Valerie Moals (James), Sandra Moals, Joseph G. Moals (Tawanna); Two cousins who were as close as brothers: Anthony Patterson and Leroy Warfield. He also leaves his grandchildren: George Tyrie Moals-Ruffin, Trina Marie Moals-Ruffin, Taliyah Esteria Countrymon, Tyrone Jalen Countrymon, Anthony James, Nia Graham, Lillian Ledbetter-Black, Crystal Ledbetter-Black, Roushee Ledbetter, Dion Ledbetter, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews he helped raise.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 10:00 at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00.
