George E. Brown

Middletown, RI - George E. Brown, 80, of 600 Valley Road, Middletown, RI, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at John Clarke Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. Born in Middlesboro, KY on March 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Emery and Molly Williams Brown.George was in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his service he worked for the Newport Electric Company as a boilerman for many years. He loved to sing and was an active member of the Portsmouth Senior Center and its choir. He is survived by one brother and two sisters; Jack Brown and Janet Brown both of Middlesboro, KY and Joan Harper of Barbourville, KY. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 12noon in Newport Memorial Park, Howland Avenue, Middletown.Calling hours are respectfully omitted
