George Everett Cook

Lenox, - George Everett Cook, 76, of 405 Pittsfield Road Lenox, formerly of 139 Sandy Point Avenue, Portsmouth., died Friday, April 2, 2004 at the Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA. He was the husband of Lorraine Swazey Cook. Born in Unity, ME on Oct. 24, 1927, he was the son of the late James Everett Cook and the late Kate Perkins Cook. Mr. Cook worked as a dairy farmer for 50 years before retiring in 1990 from the Highlawn Farm of Lee, MA. While living in Portsmouth, he was employed by the Vaucluse Farm, Wapping Road, Portsmouth. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Lawrence G. Cook of Portsmouth, RI, and Gerald E. Cook of Shippensburg, PA; two daughters, Doreen J. Gerson and Colleen E. McDonough, both of Pittsfield, MA; one sister, Sally Hubbard of Freedom, ME, 13 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 6 Step Grandchildren, and 12 Step Great Grandchildren.He was the father of the late David E. Cook and brother of the late David E. Cook same name as late son and brother of the late Clarissa Sanderson. His funeral will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2004, at 11:00am in Portsmouth Evangelical Friends Church, 11 Middle Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be in Portsmouth Friends Cemetery in Portsmouth.
