Portsmouth, RI -William Albert Silvia, 81, of 15 Debra Drive Portsmouth, formerly of 189 Water Street, Portsmouth, RI, died Monday, September 20, 2004 at Silver Creek Manor in Bristol, RI.He was the husband of Constance E. Gonsalves Silvia. Born in New Bedford, MA on June 19, 1923, he was the son of the late Jesse and Enily Nunes Silvia. Mr. Silvia was a Maintenance Man with Bonaza Bus. He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church. Mr. Silvia was a member of the Local 1363 Amalgamated Transit Union which he joined when he was employed at Bonanza Bus Lines for over 28 years. He is survived by his wife Constance E. Silvia of Portsmouth, RI, two sons William A. Silvia of Portsmouth, RI, and Ronald J. Silvia of Middletown, RI, two brothers Joseph Silvia of Portsmouth, RI, and Manuel Silvia of California, four sisters Emily Mathis, Clara Benevides and Mildred Vieira all of Portsmouth, RI and Ann Reynolds of Middletown, RI, two grandchildren Ryan Silvia and Annmarie Silvia both of Middletown, RI. His is preceded in death by his sisters Josephine Perry and Mary Raposa. His funeral will be held on Thursday September 23, 2004, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. Burial will be in Private.Donations may be made in his memory to The Portsmouth Volunteer Fire Dpt. Rescue Wagon Fund, P.O. Box 806, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
