George Noel Maynard Sr

Portsmouth, - George Noel Maynard SR., 63, of 36 Heritage Drive, Portsmouth, RI, died Monday, August 25, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.He was the husband of Diane Fitzler Maynard. Born in New Bedford, MA on September 19, 1939, he was the son of the late George Noel and Marguerite Marie Campbell Maynard.Mr. Maynard worked as a mechanical engineer for Raytheon for 31 years, retiring in 1997. He also worked for Laidlaw bus company and Newport Jai Alai part time after his retirement. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons Robert L. Ferreira of Tiverton, RI, George N. Maynard Jr. of Newport, RI, and Michael J. Maynard of Leicester, MA, five daughters Deborah L. Maddox of Virginia Beach, VA, Judy A. Ferreira-Rego of Portsmouth, RI, Susan D. Soderlund of Tiverton, RI, Jacqueline M. Peterson of Portsmouth, RI, and Cheryl L. Tucci of Saunderstown, MA, two sisters Madeline Cook of Morris, IL, and Lorraine Asiello of Corning, NY, thirteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter. His funeral will be held on Friday, August 29, 2003, at 9:00 AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 1740 Broadway, New York, NY 10014 or to the Portsmouth Volunteer Fire Dpt.
