George Bryer, 60, of Pemberton Avenue, Jamestown, peacefully passed away in his home on March 24th. He was the son of the late Doris Gilligan Bryer, formally of Jamestown, and George Bryer Sr. of Harrison, Maine. George was born and raised in Newport and then resided at the LADD School in Exeter. He lived in Jamestown for 25 years. George was employed by the Jamestown Press for many years, delivering papers to local businesses and organizations. He was well known around town. Being such an animal lover, George was a dog walker and volunteer at the Potter League and enjoyed visiting the Newport dog park. George was part of the Bridges community and was loved by his housemates, friends, and staff. With a twinkle in his eye and a smile that could light up a room he brought joy to all who knew him. He was a courtly man, who was kind, gentle and caring. A true Jamestowner, George loved sailing and was involved in Sail to Prevail. George loved people, and was sure to stop and say hello to anyone and everyone. A true conversationalist who chose those who he felt were special, and made long lasting friendships.He is survived by his father, his brother, Michael Bryer, from North Waterford, as well as his two nephews, Michael and Patrick Bryer, and his niece, Alicia Bryer of Harrison, Maine. He is also survived by his family of housemates, Paula Montaquila, Elaine Elias, Michael Detour, Corenia Pascua, Matthew Vars and his devoted and loving friends at Bridges. Services will be held at St. Mark Church, Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at 10:00AM. Memorial donations in his memory can be made to Bridges, Inc., P.O.
