George Victory Hudson

NEWPORT, - George Victory Hudson, 91, of 19 Chapel Street, Newport, RI, formerly of 20 Donna Drive Portsmouth, RI, died Thursday, July 31, 2003 at home.He was the husband of the late Frances Sherif Hudson. Born in Newport, RI on October 2, 1911, he was the son of the late George V. and Emmia Pike Hudson. Mr. Hudson was an Army Veteran of WWII, receiving the Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator with City Of Newport. He worked for 38 years in the Public Works Department for the City of Newport, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Newport Senior Citizens and the Edward King House. He is survived by one sister Mary Hall of Jacksonville, FL, his stepson Joseph Cambra of East Providence, RI, and his step daughter Edith Silvia of Middletown, RI.He was the brother of the late Ted Hudson, Mildred Bliven and Emma Durfee.His funeral will be held on Monday, August 4, 2003, at 11:00 Am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.
