George Vierra

Middletown, RI - George Vierra, 79, of 5 Vierra Terrace Middletown, RI, died Monday, January 12, 2004 at home.He was the husband of Mary Coggeshall Vierra. Born in Middletown, RI on August 24, 1924, he was the son of the late Manuel and Edmina Lopes Vierra. Mr. Vierra for the last 20 years was a security guard at the Newport Navy Base. He had worked for the former General Electric Company in Newport, RI. Mr. Vierra also owned and operated Vierras Texaco in Middletown, RI for many years. He had worked for his dad at home on a Dairy Farm which he also owned and operated. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Manuel T. Vierra of Bristol, RI, two daughters Deborah Williams of Middletown, RI, and Donna Marie Kivelihan of Clinton, IL, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.He was the father of the late Michael W. Vierra, and the brother of the late Manuel Vierra, Joseph Vierra, Peter Vierra, Tony Vierra, Marie Paranzino and Elizabeth Espanola.His funeral will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2004, at 11:30AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.
