Middletown, RI - George Walter ?Ducky? Woolhouse, 73, Middletown, RI, died Monday, September 24, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Joyce Brinton Woolhouse. Born in Newport, RI on November 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Charles and Mable Melleleu Woolhouse.Mr. Woolhouse retired from the former AP grocery store as store manager. During his retirement he enjoyed working at Newport Grand Jai Alai. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Newport. Ducky was very active in the Masons Lodge including being the Past Master of the St. Johns Lodge #1, the Past High Priest of the Newport Chapter #2, the Past Thrice Illustus of the DeBlois Council #5, the Ambassador 32degree of the Scottish Rite the Past Priest of the Van Rennsale Scotts Rite Club, the What Cheer York Rite College #43, the Sword of Bunker Hill and the Shriners. Ducky also served as Grand Master 2007 of the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island Odd Fellows, he joined Excelsior Lodge No. 49 and served as Noble Grand from 2001 to 2002, the Aquidneck Encampment he served as Chief Patriarch from 2001 to 2002, he was active with the Reba Rebekah Lodge No. 12, the Canton Providence No. 1, served as Grand Patriarch from 2005-2006 on the Grand Encampment of Rhode Island and was an associate member of the United Brothers Lodge No. 13 and Narragansett Encampment No. 1. But his family was first, nothing was more important then the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and Sunday family dinners. Besides his wife of 52 years, he is survived by his children, Scott Woolhouse Sr., and his wife Julie of Newport, RI, Patricia Johnson and her husband Patrick and Debra Meabe and her husband Jesus both of Middletown, RI and Dolores Woolhouse of Newport, RI, his brothers Charles Woolhouse and Frederick Woolhouse both of Florida, his grandchildren, Robert George Johnson and his wife Emily, Tara Johnson, Lorea Meabe, Nikole Meabe, Meaghan Woolhouse, Scott Woolhouse, Jr., Devin Woolhouse and Lucas Woolhouse, his great granddaughter Natalie Johnson and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dolores Woolhouse Silvia and William Woolhouse. His funeral will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 10:00am, in First Presbyterian Church, Broadway and Everett, Newport. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2007, from 5-9 in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
