Newport, RI - George W. Bill Watts, 63, of 39 Chapel Terrace, Newport, RI, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at home surrounded by his family.Born in Newport, RI, on October 22, 1946, he was the son of the late George W. and Irene Amaral Watts.George was a retail manager for 25 years. He was a HUGE Yankees and Giants fan. George served on the Newport Little League Board of Directors and coached for many years, wining two City Championships in three years. He is survived by his daughter Mandy J. Watts of Newport, RI, his siblings Michael J. Watts and his wife Linda S. of Newport, RI, Jeffrey Brant and his wife Maggie of Portsmouth, RI and his grandchildren, Matthew Watts, and Kyle Watts of Newport, RI.He was the father of the late George W. Watts, IV and the brother of the Robert J. Watts and Brenda McCollum.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, from 4-8pm, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at 10:00AM, in the funeral home.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park, Vaucluse Avenue, Middletown.
