Gerald Emile Destremps

Tiverton, - Gerald Emile Destremps, 62, of 18 Colonial Avenue Tiverton, died Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at Diselets Nursing Home, Warren, RI.He was the husband of Maria T. Wuest Destremps. Born in Fall River, MA on June 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Leo E. and Emma Ouelette Destremps.Mr. Destremps served in the United States Army during the early 1960s. He owned and operated his own construction company Destremps Construction Company for over 40 years. Mr. Destremps was an avid motorcycle rider and he was a member of St. Theresa Church in Tiverton. Besides his wife of 8 years he is survived by his brother Richard P. Destremps of Kempner, TX, and two nephews Reinholt Destremps of Germany, and Andre Destremps of Alabama.He was the uncle of the late Rene Destremps. His funeral will be held on Monday, January 6, 2003, at 9:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM, in Holy Ghost Church, 316 Judson Street, Tiverton. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
