Gerald K. Pimental

Middletown, RI - Gerald K. Pimental, 79, of 63 Morrison Avenue, Middletown died Monday, February 4, 2008 at Newport Hospital.He was the husband of Helen Silvia Pimental.Born in Portsmouth, RI on November 17, 1928, he was the son of the late Antone and Elvira Ferreira Pimental.Mr. Pimental was a coast to coast truck driver for many years. He served in the Merchant Marines. Gerald was a member of Jesus Saviour Church, the Portsmouth Knights of Columbus and the Legions of Mary in Portsmouth. He also belonged to the Middletown FOP and the RI State Police Auxiliary. Gerald loved boating and fishing.Besides his wife of 29 years he leaves his aunt Rose Pimental Silvia of Newport, RI , three daughters Jeanne Gozda Fox of West Haven, CT, Terry Lee Pimental of California, and Pamela Pimental of New Jersey. He also leaves three grandchildren and three great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews in Kentucky.He was the father of the late Antone Pimental. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport. Graveside committal will follow in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 4 - 8pm in the funeral home
