Geraldine A. Lamphere

Newport, RI - Geraldine ?Gerry? Lamphere, 79, of 72 Bedlow Ave Newport, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at home.She was the wife of the late William Lloyd Lamphere. Born in Jersey City, NJ on August 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Travis and Mary A. Travis Smith. Mrs. Lamphere worked at the Metro Glass Company and the Bank of Boston in her younger years. She was an active homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo at the Middletown VFW hall. She was a member of the Fleet Reserve and the Middletown VFW Post 4487. She is survived by her two daughters Carol Stewart and Cynthia Lemieux both of Newport, RI, and her son Gary Lamphere of Newport, RI, two sisters Marie Paul and June Campbell both of New Jersey, six grandchildren including her granddaughter Lyndsey Stewart with whom she lived, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.She was the twin sister of the late Doris Kemmer. Her funeral will be held on Monday, August 30, 2004, at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Brown?s Lane, Middletown.
