Geraldine Marie Olson

Newport, RI - Geraldine Marie Olson, 75, of 228 Maple Ave, Newport, died Sunday, December 31, 2006 at John Clarke Retirement Center, Middletown. She was the wife of the late Gilbert Edward Olson. Born in Mt. Pleasant, MI on March 19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Eltha Sheldon Reid.Mrs. Olson was formerly of 75 Sims Street and Evans Street. She was a member of St. Lucys Church. In her later years, she really enjoyed watching the old classic movies. She is survived by a daughter Paula A. Olson of Newport and a son Scott G. Olson of McDonough, GA, a sister Jody Keith of Albuquerque, NM; and grandchildren Stacie Mottram of Providence and Logan Olson of Austin, TX, great grandchildren Alexander Plotkin and Sandra Luisa Plotkin, both of Providence, a step granddaughter Erin Osborne of Georgia, and daughter in law Kathy Osborne of Georgia as well. She is preceded in death by two daughters Sandy Lee Mottram and Vicky Olson, and her brother Donald A. Reid. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from 4-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a memorial service to be held at 7pm.
