Gertrude Angela Reise

Jamestown, RI - Gertrude Angela Raposa Reise, 88, of 25 Seaview Avenue, Jamestown, RI, formerly of 38 West Narragansett Avenue, Newport, RI, died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Forest Farm Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late John A. Reise. Born in Fall River, MA, on May 26, 1917, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie Sullivan Raposa.Mrs. Reise was a communicant of St. Mark?s Church in Jamestown and also an active member of their Ladies Group. She enjoyed going power boating with her husband in Narragansett Bay. She loved cooking for family and friends. Mrs. Reise also took pleasure meeting with her friends for their monthly card game of canasta. She is survived by her sons John F. Reise of Portsmouth, RI, Donald B. Reise of Cambridge, MD, James A. Reise of Olney, MD, Stephen Reise of Jamestown, RI, and Terrance Reise of New Milford, CT, her sister Margaret Raposa of Portsmouth, RI, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Gertrude June Reise and the sister of the late James Raposa.Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 1, 2006, at 9:00a.m. from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m. in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2006, from 4-7p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home.
