Gertrude E. Boiani

Gertrude Elizabeth ?Trudy? Boiani, 72, of 108 Eustis Avenue, Newport, RI, died Friday, October 6, 2006 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Col. Peter John Boiani, USA, Ret. Mr. Mrs. Boiani were married on November 10, 1956, they were married for 50 years. Mrs. Boiani was born in Newport, RI on July 6, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Quigley Murphy. She is survived by her children: a daughter Lisa Boiani Shull of Cherry Hill, NJ, a son Peter J. Boiani of Middletown, RI , and a daughter Tina Boiani Gilchrist of West Warwick, RI, and her sister Corinne Riley of Barrington, RI, and seven grandchildren: Christopher, Kate, and David Shull; Peter Jon, Sophia, and Michaela Boiani; and Griffin Gilchrist. She was the sister of the late John Murphy.Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 9:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.Calling hours will be held Monday, October 9 from 4-7 in the Memorial Funeral Home.
