Gertrude ?Gidget? Theresa Brasher Jenkins, 53, of 4 Russell Avenue, Newport, RI, died peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2007, at home.She was the wife of Richard Jenkins.Born in Lowell, MA, on June 16, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Rita Guillemette Bijoel.Mrs. Jenkins had worked as a certified nursing assistant at Newport Hospital from 1987 until February 2001. She was a member of the Newport Sportsman Club. Mrs. Jenkins enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and going to Newport Grand.She is survived by two sons Kenneth Brasher of Newport, RI, and Richard Jenkins of Middletown, RI, two daughters Carey Jean Brasher of Newport, RI, and Stacey Brasher of Newport, RI, three brothers Henry Bijoel of Windham, NH, David Brasher of Warner, NH, and Dennis Brasher of Portsmouth, NH, two sisters Yvonne Brasher Milnes of Metheun, MA, and Joanna Brasher of Manchester, NH, three grandchildren Kyle Scott Brasher, Justice Brasher, and Thomas Oliveira, and many nieces and nephews.Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 15, 2007, from 4-7 p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
