Gertrude Ida Silvia

Gertrude Ida Silvia, 91, of Portsmouth died Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Grand Islander Health Care Center of Middletown. Gertrude was born August 17, 1924 in Fall River, MA and is the daughter of the late George H. and Albertine (Pelletier) Bouchard. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Silvia. Mrs. Silvia was a member of the St. Barnabas Womens Guild, the Portsmouth Democratic Party, and active at the Portsmouth Senior Center.She is survived by her children, Barbara A Sherman and her husband Bruce of Derby, VT, Marie P Bacon of Middletown, Dennis C Silvia of Portsmouth, Charlene R Greene and her husband Timothy of Newport, Kerrie L Schoenbucher of Portsmouth, and Christopher Silvia of Portsmouth, two grandchildren, Jonell Blanchett of Portsmouth and Charles I Silvia of PA and one great-grandchild Eleanor Blanchett. She was preceded in death by her son in law, George Bacon.A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 19 at 10:00am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
