Portsmouth, - Gilbert Rogers Manchester, of 78 Pine Tree Road Portsmouth, died Thursday, May 15, 2003 at Charlton Memorial Hospital Fall River, MA.He was the husband of the late Margery A. ?Monnie? McHale Manchester. Born in Newport, RI on December 21, 1921, he was the son of the late John Rogers Manchester and Lulu Albro Manchester. Mr. Manchester served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a service manager with the former Viking Oldsmobile and Cadillac of Middletown. Mr. Manchester was a member of St. Marys Episcopal Church, a life member of the Portsmouth Lions Club and he was a Master Mason at St. Johns Lodge #1 of Portsmouth. He is survived by his son Paul Rogers Manchester of Stoughton, MA, two daughters Marguerite Weiner of Upton, MA and Ann Cormier of Whitby, Ontario Canada, and seven grandchildren.He was the brother of the late Ruth Elizabeth Manchester. His funeral will be held on Monday, May 19, 2003, at 11:00 AM in St. Marys Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
