Gillmena E. White

78, of 14 Continental Drive, Middleteown, died Friday, April 26, 2002 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late James C. White.Born in East Providence, RI on April 15, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Botelho Phillips.Mrs. White worked as a chief clerk in the Middletown School Department for 25 years, retiring in 1990. She was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church and a member of the Middletown Senior Citizens.She is survived by her son James P. White, of New Hampshire, two daughters Kathleen Quartermouse and Paula J. White both of Middletown, RI, her sister Agnes Peter of Newport, RI, and five grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Alfred Phillips and Gloria Martland.Her funeral will be held on Monday, April 29, 2002 at 8:30 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, in Middletown.Donations in her memory may be made to the Visisting Nurse Services of Newport Bristol Cos, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
