Middletown, RI - Gladys Marie Crosby, 87, formerly of Sagamore Street, Newport died Friday, September 25, 2009 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. Born in Newport, RI on May 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James F. and Frances Derbin Crosby Sr..Miss. Crosby was a communicant of St. Josephs Church. She leaves a brother Col. James F. Crosby, Jr.USAF ret. and his wife Ann Taber Crosby of Niceville, FL, as well as a niece Colleen Crosby Dearmin of Santa Fe, NM, and two nephews James F. Crosby III and Kevin T. Crosby, three great nephews and one great niece all of Houston, TX, Gladys was also the sister of the late Elizabeth Betty F. Crosby. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway And Mann Avenue, Newport.
