Glenn Allen Rose, Sr

May 9, 1946 — February 8, 2012

Glenn Allen Rose Sr. loving husband, father, grandfather, brother friend passed away peacefully February 8, 2012 at The Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado. He was surrounded by his wife, children grandchildren. Glenn who was born and raised in Newport, RI dedicated his life to the children of the city of Newport through his multiple decades of service at the Newport Boys Girls Club and years of coaching numerous little league teams. Glenn who was also influential in the construction and running of the Clubs summer campground in Saunderstown, RI also was able to touch many lives outside the city of Newport. After retiring in 2005 and receiving The Key to the City and a day in his honor February 27th, Glenn enjoyed retirement in Stuart, FL and then to Johnstown, CO for his final days. He is survived by his wife Geraldine, son Glenn Jr., daughter Shannon and his four grandchildren Robert, Brooke, Gerald and Aiyana. He also leaves behind three brothers and four sisters Ronald, William, Eddie, Marie, Tina, Anita and Nadine. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 12, from 1:00 to 4:00 at Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway, Newport RI. A remembrance gathering will also be held afterwards at The Knights of Columbus, Valley Road, Middletown, RI at 5:00pm. Please bring a photo of Glenn to post and share if you have one.
