Gloria Oman

Newport, - Gloria Dorothy Millington Oman, 76, of 398 Bellevue Avenue Newport, formerly of Middle Road, Portsmouth, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI on May 6, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Emily D. Jones Millington. Mrs. Oman was a 1945 graduate of St. Catherines Academy and a 1948 graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at the Newport Naval Hospital, the Newport Hospital, various nursing homes in the Newport area as well as a private duty nurse. Mrs. Oman was a member of St. Barnabas Church and enjoyed her flower garden. She is survived by two sons Richard F. Oman Jr. of Portsmouth, RI, and William M. Oman of Tiverton, RI, two daughters Gloria Jean Pierce of Portsmouth, RI, and Leslie St.Laurent of Ketchum, ID, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.She was the companion of the late Jeremiah Barry, the sister of the late William F. Millington Jr. and Jean Replogle and the former wife of the late Richard F. Oman Sr. Her funeral and burial will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Portsmouth Volunteer Fire Dpt.
