Gloria Vierra

Middletown - Gloria M. Beck Miller Vierra, 85, of Middletown, RI, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Grand Islander Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Middletown.She was the wife of the late Anthony Henry Vierra, who passed away in November of 2009.Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Eleanor Zwilling Beck.She attended schools in Buffalo, NY and moved to Newport where she graduated from Nurses Aide training at Newport Hospital. She had worked at Newport Hospital and Forest Farm Health Care Center and various other private duty nurses aide jobs.She is survived by her daughter, Debra Vierra Murphy of Jamestown, RI, a sister, Audrey Schmidt of New York, a sister-in-law, Clara Nunes of Middletown, RI, and many nieces and nephews and her granddog Lady.She was predeceased by her sisters, Gladys and Juanita, and by her brother Wellington Beck.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 10:00AM at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.Donations in her memory may be made to the Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
