Newport, - Grace J. Kennedy Fucilli, 86, of 70 Harrison Avenue Newport, formerly of Gibbs Avenue and Edgar Court, Newport, died Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at Village House Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Tulio D. ?Paul? Fucilli. Born in Woonsocket, RI on October 31, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Harold J. and Mary Joyce Kennedy.Mrs. Fucilli was the primary caregiver for her husband during the final several years of his illness, taking him in his wheelchair on daily excursions throughout the city. During World War II she worked at the Newport Torpedo Station and later at the Newport Hospital and Egan?s Laundry. Mrs. Fucilli for many years was a warden and supervisor for the elections and polls in Newport. She was a graduate of the former St. Joseph?s High School. Mrs. Fucilli was a member of the St. Joseph?s Seniors, the St. Mary?s Seniors, the Edward King Senior Center, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Sons of Italy. She is survived by her son Harold D. ?Harry? Fucilli of Middletown, RI, her daughter Lois B. Heaton of Newport, RI, and her grandson Christopher J. Heaton of Newport, RI.She was the sister of the late Rita Cayton. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2003, at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
