Middletown, RI - Grace V. Granger Baker, 95, of Forest Farm Health Care Center, Middletown, RI, died on Sunday, September 12, 2010.She was the wife of the late Luther Homer Baker. Born in Brockton, MA on October 19, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Telesphore and A. Velena Bergeron Granger.Mrs. Baker grew up in Springfield, MA and lived many years in West Springfield, MA and Summerfield, NC before moving to Middletown. She and her husband were avid square dancers for over 30 years. In her later years she enjoyed several winters in AZ, where she had many friends and was known for her ever present smile. She was a multi-talented craft person and constantly on the go, but her greatest joy was her family. She would often say Im lucky. Ive got the most wonderful family. She is survived by her son Richard Baker and Daughter-in-Law Mary Lou Baker of Portsmouth, RI, her brother Philip Granger of Milford, CT, her granddaughters Mary Matern, Karyn Baker, Janine Stephen Delross and Jennifer Ernest Haga, six great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, many nieces nephews and close extended family..She was the sister of the late Aurel Granger, Paul Granger, Francis Granger and Laura Michaud. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010, from 11AM-12PM in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.A memorial service will be held following her calling hours at 12PM in the funeral home.Burial will be private.Donations in her memory may be made to Channing Memorial Church, 135 Pelham St., Newport, RI 02840
