Gregory Thomas Rudkin

Gregory Thomas Rudkin, of St. Augustine, FL passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer on March 1, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was 57 years old.Greg was born in Freeport, NY to Joan and Richard Rudking and spent his childhood growing up on the water. His love for the restaurant business started at an early age working in family and friends restaurants where he learned his work ethic.For over 20 years he operated the World Famous Oasis Restaurant and Deck in St. Augustine, FL as its fearless leader. In his years at the Oasis, Greg was much more than an employer he was a mentor, a life coach and above all trusted friend. Greg is survived by his loving family, Janice Lindsey, son Robert and daughter Dana to whom he was a guiding star. He is also survived by his brother Richard and his sister Maureen and her husband Bill.An amazing Uncle and Great Uncle, he also held his friends so close to his heart.A memorial service/celebration of life will be held in St. Augustine at a later date.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Greg Rudkin to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Dr. Alyea's research fund) 220 Sunrise Avenue, #204, Palm Beach, FL 33480 or to Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
