Harold W. "Wes" Grosskurth

Harold W. "Wes" Grosskurth, passed away on February 1, 2016, in Melbourne, FL, at the age of 59. Born on January 9, 1957, he was the son of Carol (Chamblee) Grosskurth and the late Kuno N. Gosskurth, Jr.Harold attended Middletown schools, but graduated in 1976 from St. Mary's High School in Denver, CO. In 1977, he joined the Army and spent most of his time in Denver, CO. After ending his Army service in 1982, he attended East Coast Aero Tech and graduated. Immediately following his graduation, he was hired by Sikorsky Aircraft in CT and worked for them for the next 30 years in several different locations - Germany, Australia, Turkey, as well as the United States. Harold retired from Sikorsky in 2012 and spent the next few years taking cruises. In August of 2015, fed up with the New England winters, he moved to Melbourne, FL. Harold leaves his mother, Carol Grosskurth, of the Grand Islander Nursing Home, Middletown, RI, two sisters, Carolyn Spaulding or Portsmouth, RI, and Nancy Miller of Juneau, Alaska, and two brothers, Kuno Grosskurth, III, of Portsmouth, RI, and Eric Grosskurth of Chapel Hill, NC.Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 22, 2015, from 10:00-11:00AM, at the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. A graveside service will take place at 11:30AM, at the St. Columba Cemetery, Brown's Lane, Middletown, RI.
