Harriette M. Grinnell

Portsmouth, RI - Harriette M. Molly Grinnell, 90, of 33 Child Street, Portsmouth, RI, died Thursday, November 10, 2011 at her home in Portsmouth, RI. She was the wife of the late Clarence A. Babe Grinnell. Born in Whitensville, MA on March 18, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Helen Smith Streeter.Molly had several careers through her life, but was well known for her 14 years with the Portsmouth Police Department as an officer. She also worked at the Portsmouth Library, Town Treasury Department, and the Town Clerks office. Mrs. Grinnell was a member of the Portsmouth Multipurpose Senior Center and a member of AARP. She is survived by her son Wesley V. Skip Grinnell of Portsmouth, a son William L Grinnell of Byron, GA and a son Richard L. Grinnell of Florence, KY, and a daughter Patricia C Smith of Mathews, VA, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Richard Streeter of Las Vegas, NV. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 15 from 3:00-6:00 in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.A private burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Tiverton, RI.
