Harrison H. Seveney, Jr

Harrison H. Seveney, Jr., 93, of Middle Road, Portsmouth, RI, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence.He was the husband of the late Susie V. (Wallen) Seveney.Born in Tiverton, RI on February 24, 1922, he was the son of the late Harrison H. Seveney, Sr. and Mildred (Norton) Seveney.Mr. Seveney was a World War II Army veteran. He served as First Sergeant with the 172nd Combat Engineers and participated in The Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Seveney worked as a surveyor and engineer with the State of Rhode Island for over 35 years before retiring. He is survived by his son, Bruce W. Seveney of Common Fence Point (Portsmouth), RI; his brother, Paul Seveney of Newport, RI; three grandchildren, Timothy, Kirtley and Raena; and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Lt. Wayne A. Seveney (Newport P.D.) and the brother of the late Russell, Benedict and Frederick Seveney, the late RI Senator Gardner Seveney, Jeanne Hardick, and Denise LempkaCalling hours will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
