Roggero Sr., 88, of the Forest Farm Assisted Living Center, Middletown, formerly of 1 J H Dwyer Drive, Middletown, RI, died Monday, July 12, 2004 at the Heatherwood Nursing And Subacute Center, Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Rosemary Lengahan Roggero. Born in Newport, RI, on October 27, 1915, he was the son of the late Joseph and Camilla Pellerino Roggero. Mr. Roggero worked in Federal Civil Service at the Newport Naval Base and as a Heavy Equipment Inspector in the Newport Public Works Department. He was a former member of the American Legion of Portsmouth. He was an avid salt water fisherman. Mr. Roggero had served in the US Navy as a Lietenant Commander, serving during WWII and Korea, retiring after 20 years of service. He is survived by a son Harry J. Roggero Jr. of Newport, RI, two brothers Vincent Roggero of Middletown, RI, and Marcello Roggero of Taunton, MA, three grandchildren Eric Roggero of Newport, RI, Danielle Bolstrige of Newport, RI, and Vincent Roggero Jr., of Williamsburg, VA, three great grandchildren Kendra Bolstrige of Newport, RI, Nicholas Roggero of Newport, RI, and Bridgette Bolstrige of Newport, RI. He was also the father of the late Vincent Roggero, and brother of the late Frank Roggero, Joseph Roggero, and Mary Dutra.His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2004, at 8:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM, in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
