Helen E. Correia

Somerset, MA - Helen E. (Perry) Correia, of Somerset Ridge Center, Somerset, MA, died on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, in Somerset.She was the wife of the late Henry Correia. Born in Fall River, MA on April 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James and Eva (Pelletier) Perry.Mrs. Correia was a Portsmouth resident from 1952 to 2010. She worked as a sewing machine operator for 15 years. Mrs. Correia was an avid seamstress making all of her own clothes, loved playing golf, cards, shopping and trips to the casinos. She was a longtime member of Green Valley Country Club and was a member of the Hole in One Club in 1997. Mrs. Correia participated in various pitch leagues throughout Rhode Island and was also a volunteer grandparent at the Hathaway School in Portsmouth. Her greatest asset was her smile she could light up a room. She is survived by her sisters Eleanor Teixeira and Doris LaHaie of Fall River, MA and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013, from 4-7pm, in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Her funeral and burial will be private.
