Helen E. Grossman

Middletown, - Helen E. Grossman, 90, of Middletown, died Monday, February 24, 2014 at Grand Islander Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Stanley H. Grossman. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Howard O. and Bertha (Steinhilber) Van Assche.Mrs. Grossman lived in New York City as a young woman and worked as an artist and designer for the textile industry. She then took a position as a designer for an architecture firm in Poughkeepsie, NY. Soon after she met Stanley and moved to Middletown. She was very involved in Easton's Point Association, and frequently attended council, zoning and planning meetings in Middletown. She is survived by her sister Edna Gould and niece Liz Gould Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Mary's Churchyard, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
